Just in time for a holiday celebrating our nation throwing off the yolk of kings, 218 Republican reps and 50 Republican Senators decided they were okay having a king again. They claim to be eliminating waste while adding trillions to the national debt to pay billionaires in tax cuts and eliminating healthcare for millions of Americans (citizens, including #veterans), as well as #PublicHealth services, #climate incentives, ability to obtain loans to pay for higher education, public school funds, access to public land, and much more.
We’ve also lost protections and services for anyone who gets #pregnant, anyone who isn’t straight, white, or rich, and now we can’t even criticize or #protest safely.
So on a day supposedly celebrating #freedom, I’m not sure if we’re so free.
